[Videogames] Zhengtu Online, The Original Sinner of free-to-play gaming and lootboxes
Hi everyone, this is my first contribution to HobbyDrama, I hope this is an entertaining read and also to the community's standards. Let's go!! Brief glossary before we begin (and some foreshadowing) MMORPG: massively multiplayer online role-playing game, MMO for short. A videogame genre that generally invites hundreds, or up to thousands, of players to share a space. Depending on the game, anything from general adventure to large-scale war to economy and politics can be simulated. I find it hard to believe that anyone reading this could possibly not know what this is but it's included anyway. Electro-convulsive therapy: ECT for short, it is a form of treatment where electrodes are "carefully" hooked up to a person's head and a "precise" level of electric shock is delivered, in order to treat major psychiatric disorders. Developed in 1938 when most psychiatric treatments was in their infancy, it is still used today occasionally for serious cases of depression, mania, or psychoses. In its early days however, there were widespread claims of abuse associated with its use. Pt1: The Root of all that is bullshit Zhengtu Online (hereafter referred to as ZT) was an immensely popular MMORPG that was developed in China and primarily served a Chinese playerbase. Released in 2006, at its peak it boasted more 2 million players, which while not particularly impressive relative to World of Warcraft (8mil worldwide at the same time), was a truly insane amount of success in a gaming scene that was very much in its embryonic stage. The game itself was an unimpressive Diablo-style top down fantasy setting, and its gameplay loop primarily revolved around improving your ability to kill various things, but what made it special was the overarching metagame: every player population (sharing a server) was divided into 10 kingdoms. Kings and generals were all individual players, and they dictated politics to their neighbors--primarily in the form of initiating player-vs-player (or PVP) warfare. Most contemporary MMOs had an upfront price plus a monthly subscription fee. In China, such pricing models were mostly replaced by paying oney for a set amount of ingame playing time. Unlike all of them, ZT was completely free to play (F2P). Free to play, however, meant pay-to-win: the best weapons and armor, and even leveling up your character, needed you to pay real money. Since so much of the game was focused on PVP, it also created an eternal arms race between players, each paying for the privilege of not being evaporated by a high level enemy. The way they did this was unique at the time. While F2P online games had already seen their rise in South Korea, equipment was generally priced explicitly via in-game currency and bought in virtual shops. ZT fused this with the sweet, sweet taste of gambling: gear in the game was primarily obtained in loot boxes, and you had to pay for keys to open them. It needs to be emphasized that gambling of any kind was illegal in China, but, in an eerie parallel of American CEOS in the future, ZT's developers said it wasn't gambling because, well, you weren't getting your money back. By combining this with multiple other exploitative practices, such as providing a small amount of premium currency like a casino giving you a free bet on the house, or awarding special items to the player with the highest number of lootboxes opened in a day, ZT was making money like taking candy from a candy-hating baby, and made gaming history. As far as what this means for gamers, this was Eve giving Adam the apple, Oppenhemier splitting the atom, Prometheus stealing fire, Caesar crossing the Rubicon, and goddamn Helen Keller signing "water". If you play any kind of videogames today, you've stepped through the long shadow that ZT had cast. Zynga (developers of Farmville) would be founded in 2007 and focused exclusively on free games with real-money integration. Lootboxes made it into Team Fortress 2 in 2010, one of the first major western-developed games to include them. Similar mechanics (with varying degrees of exploitative practices) came to FIFA in 2010, Mass Effect 3 in 2012, Counter-Strike in 2013, League of Legends in 2016, and NBA 2K in 2017, infecting every genre of gaming under the sun, including the most popular MMO, World of Warcraft. As an aside, corporate defense of lootboxes in Star Wars Battlefront II also led to the most downvoted Reddit comment of all time. Finally someone speaks out The System, an article published in the Chinese newspaper Southern Weekly in 2007, was a hard-hitting expose on the exploitive practices of ZT. It chronicled the rise and fall of a gamer who accidentally becomes the monarch of one of these in-game Kingdoms, her addiction to the game, and final disillusionment when she realized that in-game player behaviour was being explicitly manipulated by its designers for the purpose of creating addicts and selling more lootbox keys. The whole article is worth a read, even if it is sensationalist in a way that immediately tells you the writer was clearly a failed novelist of some kind - describing virtual destruction with the kind of prose most people would consider and then discard for a gang rape, for starters. But it had gotten its point across. It created an explosive backlash against the game in China, and was even translated into English and propagated across gaming forums. The fallout In an act of censorship usually reserved for the CCP government, this article--including its English translation--began to be scrubbed from the internet, with speculation pointing to the immensely powerful CEO behind ZT. I mean, who else could it be, right? This article would light the fire of China's first moral panic regarding videogames. In its wake, swift legislation would be enacted regarding internet gaming addiction as well as online proxy gambling. ZT would heed the new laws and remove its lootbox mechanics in the following years and many other similar games followed suit. Most tragically, the panic (which, to be fair, was fueled by a very real problem) allowed unscrupulous characters such as Yang Yongxin, vice chairman of a hospital in Shandong province, to create "internet addiction centres". With its legitimacy established by a docuseries ("Fighting the Internet Monster") on the state-run television channel CCTV, these centres charged terrified parents exorbitant prices in order to keep teens by force in, essentially, private hospitals and asylums, subjecting them to inhumane conditions and abusive ECT in order to "cure" them of their disease. It was estimated that Yang earned the equivalent of more than $6million USD from his addiction centre in the short space of 2 years. While his centre was eventually closed by state order, he received no punishment of any kind. As for ZT, it limped on until 2018. A mobile game reboot was made in 2015. A tie-in fantasy movie was released in 2020. it was not very good. ~~~~~~ Addendum: how we got here: Of Mice and levers In the 1950s, an American scientist named BF Skinner discovered the following: when mouse is put in a box with a small lever that, when pressed, dispenses a food pellet, they will quickly learn to start pressing on the lever as fast as possible. If you then stop the food from dispensing, the mouse will lose interest quickly after pressing a few times and seeing no food coming out. If, however, you hooked up the lever to dispense food at random intervals, the mouse will be practically glued to the lever and hammer on it nonstop, sometimes long after they become full, and long after any food has been dispensed. This discovery, known as variable outcome operant conditioning, formed the foundation of our understanding of addiction and gambling. Skinner would go on to try and fail to make bombs guided by pigeons, but we're not interested in that here. His research tool--the Skinner Box--would become a descriptor you may have come across when discussing exploitive game mechanics. Summary Once upon a time, a game combined the random outcome of videogaming with real-money gambling. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
My discount bot to help /wallstreetbets. It took me almost a year to develop it to my standard.
My private codes was used to develop it, and it's very unlikely I will sell it off to anyone or publish the code freely as it took me way too long to develop it. I rather post updates freely, at no cost to anyone than give out the code.
I will not be posting this hourly. It just too long to load everything up maybe in the future. I will post during open though.
Discord and telegram admins, don't try to monetize my bot suggestions to vulnerable people, when you don't even own the codes behind it.
There are a lot of SPY500/"boomer" companies within the bot, I thought about removing it but many people preferred that I kept it in there.
There won't be any sell signals, as stocks only go up, so I rather just do a discount algorithm.
Batch 1 = Algorithm/Bot + Human Judgement
Batch 2 = Algorithm/Bot Judgement Only
This is a one man bot.
Bot Overview: It's showing an opportunity that you may have missed otherwise, so you can decide for yourself if you want to pursue the discount of a stock for potential profits. Backtesting has not been done, do not YOLO your life savings into whatever stated risking it all. Rather use this as a side tool. Key:
Pharma companies are very risky.
Meme/Hype stocks are very risky.
Companies that you don't know how they work are very risky.
Follower companies are very risky because they join the hype train (what NKLA is to TSLA).
I have a very low amount in options (less than $500), and I have 100k+ in shares and cash.
When doing options have a lot of collateral, so you don't hit margin call.
Take the "Calls" as very discounted, and "Potentially A Call" as somewhat discounted.
Old money companies are slow. While tech companies are fast-paced.
Only invest in companies that you do know and see potential in.
You don't have to invest every day, only when you see the potential.

Goodmorning citizens of Los Santos! Recently my sister (23) and her boyfriend decided to start playing GTAO; last time I was online I purchased the arcade for the Casino heist but never actually upgraded it and I never did the heist. I don't have the hangar and the penthouse (neither the yatch but that's pretty useless). I managed to buy the kosatka and did the Cayo Perico heist. I own every other business, that's to give you an idea of what I can access in terms of gameplay. At the moment we're grinding Terrorbyte missions with VIP works and from time to time we resupply my bunker and her weed farm (I know the cocaine lab is worth more but she was more comfortable with weed lol). I also know that with the Cayo Perico heist one can grind a ton of money solo and pretty easily but she's too newbie to follow me and make it easy. A few years ago I grinded like 250 levels doing only contact missions, last time I did some of those the game kept suggesting me other activities so at a certain point a playlist was the only way to keep the contact missions going. Now I feel that contact missions aren't worth the time and grind (plus I'm sick and tired of them). My question to you is: could you suggest me some good ways to grind money without having to repeat the same missions over and over? I have no problems getting a solo public session and preferably I'd like to stay in a freeroam session (meaning Terrorbyte like missions and not MOC like missions). Most importanlty, am I already doing the best method? I'm afraid that my sister and her bf will get tired of repeating the same stuff over and over again. Sorry if my question took that long but I wanted to appear as I know every inch of the game (at least until the Diamond Casino Heist dlc). Thank you very much for taking the time to read and answer to this. (and excuse my english, not my mothertongue :) )

When will the DLC drop? Soon. Rockstar usually pushes updates around 3:30AM EST or 9:30AM UTC. Check this helpful map showing all the timezones. Does the DLC cost money, how can I get the DLC? The DLC will be made automatically available through whatever launchestore you have the game on. Those using the Rockstar Launcher can expect to see their games updated first, so be ready for that. What can we expect? Judging by Rockstar's announcements and timelines, this DLC won't be massive. They've confirmed new business battles and yacht missions, probably comparable to the previous client jobs we've gotten with the Terrorbyte. Additionally they've teased some cars, of which we've gotten images of a new supercar, a musclecar and an F-1 car. Some new race modes have been mentioned as well. It's safe to assume that the content will be dripfed in stages, especially the more interesting items might be left for later. Have the Acura NSX and new Toyota Supra been added? Some images of the Toyota Supra and Acura NSX being converted at Benny's have been floating around - these are fake and have been put into circulation by a clickbaity asshole who shall not be named. Are weekly updates on Tuesdays starting now? Probably not. Rockstar always goes a little off their usual schedule with DLC drops and this is probably the same thing. It's hard to say if the sales will already change this Thursday, but I'd recommend y'all reek the benefits of the sales before you regret it. What's going to be on sale next? / When will the next sale be up? / What's going to be in the next DLC? If any Rockstar employees are on this sub, we'll let you know.
We're also hosting a Summer Special DLC Discussion Megathread which will be unlocked once the DLC has dropped to keep discussions related to the release of the DLC and first wave of content in one place. Have fun playing everyone!

I don't want to bore you all so please take a look at my thoughts on some pretty cool films! I watched ~91 movies this year and beginning January 1 I decided to keep a list and write a review if I felt inspired or didn't write one if I was too high or lazy. The list is a combination of movies that came out in 2020, movies I had never seen before, and some movies that needed a rewatch. I am by no means a professional critic but only an incredibly passionate fan that likes to think I have a good eye! Comment if you agree, comment if you disagree, just comment so I have something new to think about some of the films. As a quick note, this post is essentially a rip-off of a post done by u/BunyipPouch that can be referenced here: https://www.reddit.com/movies/comments/eh71gy/i_saw_192_movies_in_theaters_in_2019_here_is_my/ . I really like the way this person outlined their list so I'm pulling a Quentin Tarantino and stealing their idea! Without further ado: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Arrival - 10/10 Confirmed my favorite movie of all time. Watching for what might be the 7th time made me realize the strength of a feeling that movies can give you. Having a favorite movie doesn’t mean it is the best movie, but the feeling you get when watching your favorite movie has you wanting to chase that feeling in every movie you see. Certain aspects are unexplainable but all I know is there is something about this movie that gets to me every time I watch it. Maybe it’s the decision she makes to live out the life she sees in front of her even though it leads to extreme heartbreak. Maybe it’s the daring concept of alien life in what is almost such a real depiction. Maybe it’s the idea that time really is a shiftable construct that we may have the power of utilizing. Whatever it is, it leads to extreme beauty and an indescribable feeling. Parasite - 10 Spotlight - 9.4 A near perfect 10/10. This isn’t a typical movie that should be judged by the acting or camera work, but by the ability to progress and tell a sick and twisted story. The layers are peeled back with each scene, revealing a new horrific aspect about the size of the case, the attempt to cover it up, and the sickness of the individuals involved. The scope of the story can cause an emotional reaction at multiple points and makes you see the pain that the victims have gone through without leaning too much on showing this actual pain. 2001: A Space Odyssey - 9.4 1917 - 9.3 Gone With the Wind - 9.3 Waves - 9.2 There are so many interesting aspects of this film that make it unique and almost fantastic. Firstly, it is almost equally an experience of sound as it is of color and visual (hence ending on Alabama shakes’ Sound and Color). The soundtrack uses modern rap and R&B hits in an effective way and not in the way of trying to impress the audience with good music. Secondly, the emotional scenes are so genuine and the directing style is not aggressive so you can feel the emotion with the characters. The moment of Emily seeing her bf hug her dying father, causing her to walk away bursting into tears and trying to find the words to say to her parents over text, is beyond heartbreaking and done so well. The demise of her brother is depressing and felt exaggerated but goes to show that life can take crazy turns. Loved it. Soul - 9.2 Such a beautiful film that I did not expect to move me the way it did. The film tackles incredibly deep and metaphysical questions with such ease that it makes the directing and everything about the movie feel even more genius. At times it struggles between being a movie for kids and trying to answer life's toughest questions, but overall tells a beautiful story of just living to live. Sound of Metal - 9.2 The Lighthouse - 9.2 Oh my god. I don’t really know what to say but this movie made me feel things and that feeling is hard to find. I don’t want to rate it. The Social Network - 9.2 Pain and Glory - 9.1 Dear Zachary - 9 Never cried more in a movie as this is what the heaviest loss looks like. The sheer passion and commitment that Kate and David have toward honoring their son and being good people is astounding and incomprehensible at times. I’ve never hated someone so much in my life before and felt so strongly about the need to live and do good. It is easy to be broken after something like this happens to you but the awe-inspiring love and devotion that these people have for this family is one of a kind. Please watch this if you need to cry. The Tree of Life - 9 Ferris Beuller’s Day Off - 9 Midsommar - 9 I don’t even really know what I watched but I know it was genius. Gladiator - 8.8 The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - 8.8 Steve Jobs - 8.7 Shot in 3 unique stories, this movie is able to give you the spirit of Steve Jobs without needing to explain historical information like many biopics would. Faasbender is spectacular and creates the essence of Steve Jobs perfectly as someone who is utterly devoted to better the human race no matter the cost it brings to those around him. The editing is impressive with so many quick cuts and blending the shots to feel like a singular story. You walk away impressed with the legacy jobs left behind, the heartbreak of him not being around to further the human race, and the harsh reality that he was not a flawless human. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - 8.7 This film is really in a category of its own, not because it’s the greatest movie ever made, but because of how unique each of the elements are. Fincher takes his signature style of directing and combines it with a Tree of Life storytelling narrative and a Steven Spielberg/James Cameron style of creating a classic feel good drama. Overall, it’s core is designed to make you accept life for what it is, even if this is particularly a positive spin on life and its consequences. The Grand Budapest Hotel - 8.7 Frances Ha - 8.5 It is such a realistic depiction of struggling New Yorkers without the emotional breakdown. You never really see her lose her shit even when she seems to be going crazy. I hated in the moment the separation of Greta and her best friend because of the somewhat abrupt change in Sophie’s character, but they have a nice full circle reunion. The performances are fantastic and the film has a certain air to it as if Baumbach wants you to realize that what you are watching is not real life while trying to make it seem as real as possible. Definitely a unique film that has minor flaws but overall shows a meaningful journey of a New Yorker trying to find their way. Almost Famous - 8.5 Bridge of Spies - 8.5 Steven Spielberg has centered his masterful directing skills into telling real life stories without the need for too much artistic involvement. Movies like Vox Lux and The Lighthouse capture you with artistic involvement, but Spielberg has learned how to capture you with immaculate storytelling of historical events. If you are ever interested in learning something new, Spielberg will not disappoint. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - 8.5 The Other Guys - 8.5 Drive - 8.5 Munich - 8.4 This is an action film that takes away the historical cliches of action films and adds a layer of raw truthfulness. Spielberg uses his gift to inform people of a momentous story that affected Israel and the Jewish people without adding any propraganda-like elements to make you pity them or be completely one sided. The story is horrifically true, and Spielberg does not hold back on any of the details. The acting is solid and provides an emotional look into the consequences that come with facing terrorists both for a nation and for an individual. Ad Astra - 8.4 Okja - 8.4 So goddamn high please don't hurt the animals. Wedding Crashers - 8.4 You sandbagging son of a bitch Blade Runner - 8.3 Crash - 8.3 Incredibly powerful and socially relevant, this movie was necessary during these times to artfully show the systematic racism engrained in society. The acting performances are stellar, particularly Thandie Newton, and Haggis’ directing is perfect to convey the raw emotion in each scene. Spirited Away - 8.3 Blade Runner 2049 - 8.3 Kill Bill Vol. 1 - 8.3 Enemy - 8.2 Such an interesting and gripping movie that didn’t seem to make a lot of sense but I imagine a second watching would provide more insight. Gyllenhal is truly something else and should be treasured. Villanueva is so good at creating his own world and creating such a uniquely shot film with moods and coloring. Good Time - 8.2 Snowpiercer - 8.2 The Town - 8.2 5 to 7 - 8.1 Luckily I was in the mood for a rom com but this had its own unique air to it as of course there were cheesy parts, but they were not delivered in a cheesy way. Once over the fact that someone essentially like me could find themselves in this sort of relationship, I could actually begin to root for them and understand how something like this could work. There are some amazing lines that I should go back and write down for when I want to pursue someone, and the holistic narrative of the film is done very well. There is nothing special from a directing standpoint, but his simple approach at least allows the story to progress without any complications from a camera perspective. Oceans 11 - 8.1 The heist movie of all heist movies. You show me a young Brad Pitt and George Clooney and I’m not sure there’s a way to fuck that up. There are obviously cliche moments and the impossibility of actually pulling this off is sometimes too ridiculous (they throw glow sticks into a hidden elevator shaft to a vault), but overall wonderful to watch. Jojo Rabbit - 8.1 Philadelphia - 8 Led by the incredible acting of Hanks followed by the emotionally gripping plotline, Philadelphia is able to tell the story of not just one gay man’s plight with aids and the repercussions socially and physically, but of an entire minority’s struggle with acceptance. The directing is very understated in a way that pays off considering the story development should be at the forefront of the film. Incredibly heart-wrenching and is clearly an important film to giving a voice to gay Americans. Uncut Gems - 8 The Safdie brothers have a particular way of filming/directing that creates an environment of entertaining stress that is able to grip your attention for the whole film. I love the connection between the opal gem and Howard as the movie begins and ends with that connection through his body. Sandler was absolutely snubbed and perfectly portrays what it’s like to be an addict and constantly on the run. Molly's Game - 8 The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - 8 Jaws - 8 Love Actually - 8 Cruel Intentions - 7.9 A glorified soft-core porn featuring a young Reese Witherspoon? Yea, you could say I liked it. Knives Out - 7.8 An all star cast and provides enough mystery to keep the plot moving seamlessly. It’s a very interesting film for a murder mystery as they reveal what would typically be the biggest piece of info quite early in the movie, but there are more layers that need to be peeled back. The reveal is very clever and was not too outlandish, but I think they could’ve done more to make it even more shocking. Aside from that it’s a fun film and is worth the watch. Rise of the Planet of the Apes - 7.8 In what was a surprisingly enjoyable movie, planet of the apes takes an Avatar approach and gets you to root against the humans. The montage of the ape growing up is done concisely but effectively and allows you to connect with him while remaining entertained. There are obviously some cheesy aspects and not a lot of character development outside of the ape, but I left feeling like I could watch a sequel. Tenet - 7.8 I love Nolan but I struggled at times to keep up even with my eyes glued to the screen. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - 7.8 Booksmart - 7.7 In what can be assumed to be an ode to the Superbad films of the late 2000s, Booksmart successfully keeps you entertained primarily driven by strong performances from Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein. They have a clear chemistry that is never doubted and play the perfect duo of extroverted smart high school kids that are finally ready to rebel. There are scenes that are a bit predictable and slightly lazy in writing in order to move the story along that I’m choosing to nitpick over (dever creating a “diversion”, using the pizza guy as the free get out of jail card), but once the little things are accepted the greater story can be appreciated. The movie has the particular feel of Superbad in which you know you’re going to see some outlandish things on the journey that will lead to laughs, but will ultimately lead in a coming of age lesson in a heartwarming way. Out of Africa - 7.6 "You’ve ruined it for me, being alone." 10 Things I Hate About You - 7.5 Zodiac - 7.5 Frozen - 7.5 The Interview - 7.5 Casino Royale - 7.5 Skyfall - 7.5 The Talented Mr. Ripley - 7.4 Tron Legacy - 7.4 Palm Springs - 7.3 Borat Subsequent Moviefilm - 7.2 The hype was too much to overcome but Cohen really did a nice job of bringing back the classic and presenting Borat in a 2020 world. It’s genius filmmaking to have someone like Borat show America what America is really like as you can look in the eyes of a racist foreigner. Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far On Foot - 7 Quantum of Solace - 7 The Perks of Being a Wallflower - 6.9 The cheesiness makes it shocking that it was released as late as 2012 but overall its an interesting story clearly coming from a novel with strong themes. Loopers - 6.9 I liked having seen Loopers, but it’s not a must see movie. The ending was creative and definitely saved my overall opinion of the movie. Have a Good Trip - 6.9 Never forget the power of psychedelics and how these icons have had crazy trips. Carrie Fisher is your new favorite. Coachella Documentary - 6.9 The Gentleman - 6.9 Jurassic Park - 6.9 About Time - 6.9 Spider-Man Far From Home - 6.8 Probably the worst of the new Spider-Man movies but still provides great visuals with interesting hero concepts. There is definitely a lull in the middle and there are some scenes that make you appreciate Marvel, but otherwise just another solid movie from marvel. Oceans 13 - 6.7 While entertaining and still shows you Pitt and Clooney, there are definitely more annoying aspects and less intriguing storylines. The Social Dilemma - 6.4 Obviously a very important topic that should have more documentaries like this one, but really overplayed some of the dangers in a dramatic/theatrical sense. Ford Vs. Ferrari - 6.2 Not gonna lie, while the story itself is enthralling and a unique part of history, the “studio” feel of this movie took away from much of my enjoyment. I feel bad that Bale and Damon had to be in such a studio made film because they both put on great performances. Bale can do anything he wants and crush it. The way they vilify certain aspects is comical and the cliches are tough to get by, but there are some great action shots of the races and powerful scenes where bale is doing the heavy lifting. Long Shot - 6.1 Definitely some funny and witty jokes, but overall it’s mediocre. I didn’t hate it and actually enjoyed many of the aspects, but no need to say much more. Air Force One - 6 Patriotic in the most 90s way possible, with Harrison Ford as president, evil Russian bad guys with mustaches, and an essentially all white cast, Air Force One is a hidden American propaganda film. The movie was funnier than anticipated because of the classic Harrison Ford trope of constant survival and the dramatic set ups to make the wins look even more unbelievable. Either way, hard not to love Ford as the president of the USA and almost made me proud to be an American by the end. Meet Joe Black - 6 With a 100% white cast and overall 90s feel to the movie, it’s hard to rate this movie “fairly” as if it had just come out in 1998. But I like the idea similarly to Tree of Life in terms of looking over your life and making sure you have lived it completely without any regrets. However, acting is mediocre and I didn’t realize how much I hate the typical 90’s businessman in movies. Andre the Giant - 5.8 Fury - 5.5 This was definitely a disappointing letdown. Expectations were definitely high going in but the horrible special effects and mediocre acting made this tough to be invested by the end. Armageddon - 5 Back to School - 5 Cougar Hunting - 4.9
So several months ago, I had a weird situation with a couple of friends. This particular set of friends are a couple (male and female) and I've know the female for about 15 years and would talk to her almost everyday. I'd describe the level of friendship as fairly close in terms of things that we share although we've never really done anything together outside of playing video games and going to the casino. About six months ago, the female (let's call her Mary), offered to let me use some of her Best Buy rewards points because they were going to expire and she didn't want them to go to waste. At the same time of the offer, she said that I would have to give her money for said points which puzzled me immediately. At that particular moment, I didn't give an answer as I thought it was odd for something like that to happen. Fast forward about a month ahead, I asked if those points were still available because there was something I was interesting in getting. My friend said she still had the points and would order what I wanted. Right after which, she still said that I would still have to pay her for the rewards points. At that point, I became a little uncomfortable and asked why I would have to give her money for the rewards points?? My main concern was that you're not really supposed to sell those types of things, but I don't think it's illegal and people probably do it fairly often. But apparently after talking about it she wanted to use the money I gave her for the points to pay off her credit card. Which also made no sense and led me to wonder if they were just struggling money wise and if so that would be a completely different story altogether. At this point, I didn't feel like she was being sincere and honest about her offer to let me use her rewards point which later on I would catch some flack for saying. At the same time, I knew that she wanted me to give her money for them from the start so it's on me that I took up the offer. However, after a little back and forth she came back and said that she would give me the rewards points for my birthday which was coming up soon and that I would owe the difference since the points weren't enough to cover what I was getting. I had no issue with paying the difference no matter what though. But in this case, I thought it was even more odd that they would now give me these points for my bday and then make me pay the rest as it was now meant to be a bday gift. But to me that would mean, that it if it was mean to be a gift then I shouldn't have to pay for it. I didn't bring this up in conversation, but started to think that this situation may not be healthy. They tried to reach out to me to talk about things, but in the present moment I was a little frustrated and upset and really wasn't in a mood to talk over the phone. It's also worth noting that Mary has several health issues and was on a lot of antibiotics and meds at the time and her and her bf tried to use that as an excuse for her offering me the points. Now, I am totally sympathetic to people having health issues and not feeling well, but I don't think you should use your health as an excuse for certain behavior (but correct me if I'm wrong). At which point, Mary's bf (let's call him George), started sending me Facebook messages stating that I was being ungrateful and treating his gf like shit and being an asshole. Just to point out, I did not call either of them any names or use any type of insults of any kind during this whole ordeal, but simply just tried to share how I felt and my perspective which didn't really seem to help and felt I was being made out to be the bad guy. So at this point I just wanted to be done with the whole thing. So I took back the item to Best Buy as soon as it came in the mail because I didn't feel comfortable keeping it and at that point I basically said that I didn't think it was good to be friends anymore because it all seemed sketchy to me. I told them this and then I just get more of the same that I'm ungrateful and an asshole. I tried to explain the situation and again that Mary wanted money for the points and the bf acted like he didn't know what I was talking about. Fast forward about another two months, I get a letter from them in the mail. The letter was poorly written and at times even incoherent because the grammar was so bad. But in that letter, I just got more of the same as before.... that I was ungrateful and was the bad guy. On a semi related note, I had made several trips to the grocery store for them during the pandemic. Because of her health issues, Mary is considered very high risk for getting covid so neither of them wanted to go out which is understandable. But at the time, I was happy to do it because well I need groceries too. They claimed in the letter that I squeezed extra money from them for those grocery trips which they sent to me thru Zelle out of nowhere without me requesting it or mentioning it in any prior conversation. So this to me was another weird occurrence. Throughout the last few years of friendship, I had observed several other weird things in conversations I had in the past with these friends and also between how they would interact with each other. Obviously, it wasn't any of my business to say anything about their relationship so I always get stayed quiet. One final thing worth noting, that Mary has always described herself as a "princess" and even heard her mom described as "the queen" a couple of times if that tells you anything. But I feel that this situation was just the straw that broke the camels back. I certainly admit any wrong doing I had in this situation and think I have my answer, but just wanted to share my thoughts here to see what others think as well. Thank you in advance for any comments!
So it’s been a few days since the update dropped so I think it’s been a good enough to let the update’s content sit and allow us to play around with everything. To address the elephant in the room, let’s talk about the island: it is very, very, VERY underwhelming. I already made a post explaining the problems with the island, so I’ll just keep it brief: it’s all run down industrial drug manufacturing and no resort town area thingy for the tourists at the party. It’s quite unrealistic thinking about the people there and where they’re going to stay. If they wanted to make the infrastructure of the island undeveloped, then make it be like Cuba, where it’s all old timey buildings with classic cars on the unpaved roads. It’s all off-road areas, which TBH are pretty cool if you wanted some off-road/rally cars to try out BUT OH WAIT YOU CAN’T BECAUSE THE ISLAND ISN’T ACCESSIBLE IN FREEMODE. I don’t know what Rockstar was thinking when they said “an entirely new location.” When you say it like that, of course people are gonna expect it to be in freeroam so they can have fun with their friends and hang out in their cars and whatnot, and no having tiny portion of the island where you can just do what you do in your nightclub and the Music Locker, and that is to just dance and drink and entertain yourself for 5 minutes. If you try to leave the island, the guards stop you and your character automatically walks back toward the party. You can’t even sneak or swim around the guards you are just stuck at the party until you decide to go back to Los Santos. From what some people say, it’s because of the limited hardware, and that the entire island is free to explore in freeroam on the XSX/S and PS5, but very few of us have those consoles, and those who do say that claim is false. It’s just either the game is old or that Rockstar just wanted to be dicks to us, and if they did know we were expecting a map expansion, then I’d like to believe the. They really did do us dirty like that. The very first prep/scout might be the worst mission in the entire game. All you do is take pictures of stuff you need for the heist, which is fine, except the stuff spawns in random locations and if you wanna fully complete the prep missions and get your crew completely equipped you have to find 4 of the stuff, like the bolt cutters and grapples. I like the idea of posing as a DJ’s entourage then sneaking out scope out the island. It’s cool, except for the fact the mission is goddamn awful. It’s a mandatory stealth mission, which doesn’t sound that bad, then you remember stealth in GTA is just so, so bad. “So what if it’s a stealth mission, just quietly take out everyone in your way.” That’s the problem: you can’t eliminate anyone in this prep mission, not even punch or judo chop or whatever on the guards. As soon as you get too close to any of the guards, you are spotted and instead of dying and respawning, you’re dragged back to the party (or airport, if you’re doing the prep after the first play through) and have to sneak your way back all over again. It gets pretty frustrating after awhile. To make it worse, if you’re spotted too much, you are thrown off of the island and wash up on the shores of Vespucci Beach, which doesn’t make sense geographically, since Cayo Perico is confirmed to be in the Caribbean and LS is next to the Pacific Ocean. After getting thrown off the island, you have to go back to the Kosatka, restart the prep, and do the mission all over again. The other prep missions are somewhat of a step up from the Casino Heist preps. For one, there aren’t any missions where you have go back twice for any of the equipment; it’s a one and done deal. The missions utilize different interiors from previous updates, like the CEO office, Import/Export garage, etc. and I find that somewhat cool. The missions themselves aren’t that hard, so they should be able to be breezed through. The heist itself was in many ways a step up from the Casino Heist, in a way. All the different kinds of approaches, entries, methods, setups, etc. made the heist very unique with different levels of replay ability. As annoying as the guards on the island are, it’s good that they spawn randomly, as to encourage more challenge and thought as to how to approach the heist, unlike the Casino where they all have fixed locations, and after a few play through you figure out the formula and breeze through it like no problem. The guards are still ridiculously hard to all kill, even with all the prep missions to weaken them done. They still have aimbot, not surprised there. There’s a juggernaut in El Rubio’s mansion, but it’s not that bad, since there’s only one that spawns, and you can just use explosives. It is a heist that encourages stealth, and is very unforgiving to those who fuck it up. The enemies are fairly weak if you do the preps, but they just swarm you everywhere, especially in El Rubio’s mansion where they flank you at all corners, and if you’re not careful, you can go through all your snacks and armors quickly. The amount of content released day one is very underwhelming, and the drip feed line up lowkey sucks. Half of the cars showed off in the trailers and promos were actually released on launch but the rest are to be released weekly over the next few months. I get it, Rockstar wanted to artificially extend the lifespan of this update, but did they really have to make us wait weeks for vehicles we can drive around during the heist? If they wanted to drip feed some vehicles from the heist itself, make it like the Manchez scout or that ATV cause no one cares about those vehicles, well, at least I don’t. Leaving out less vehicles from the heist to be released as drip feed would leave room for some more original cars to be added or different versions of cars that need updating, like the ARENA ZR380 PLEASE JUST GIVE US A CLEAN JDM VERION OF THAT CAR. The line up of original non heist cars is actually quite solid, still fitting the theme of the update. Cayo Perico gives off some Cuban vibes, minus the whole communism thing, so it would make sense some of the cars added would be classic cars from the 50s-60s, like the Fiat 500 (Brioso 300), BF Weevil (finally, they added a better version of the Injection), and Slamtruck (if that thing doesn’t allow us to put cars on it I’m gonna get very mad). The new clothes and outfits are nothing amazing, but there was a change I appreciate so much, and that is we can finally put body armor on other tops like hoodies, service shirts, other utility tops. Finally will I no longer have to use the merge glitch. The new armored vests tho kinda suck, since they’re just designer and don’t exactly fit anything. The new button down tropical shirts do look cool, I just wish we could unbutton them to give more of a casual tourist vibe. I just appreciate we have more ability than variety. The weapons were ok. The military rifle looks way too similar to the bullpip and advanced rifle, so it’s nothing really special. The Perico Pistol was a cool unlock for a random event that has a somewhat painful chance to get by finding a body in LS and searching it for a key, but the gun itself is just a golden marksman pistol, needing to be reloaded after every shot. I have yet to find the combat shotgun in the heist, but I imagine it’s just a cooler looking version of the pump shotgun. The music in this update was very meh. Didn’t like the songs on Kult FM too much, maybe because I’m not into rock that much and kinda used to listening to pop songs and some Broadway musicals here and there. Couldn’t really judge Still Slippin since I need to be in a specific area of the map to listen to it, I haven’t been around Mirror Park in awhile, so I just went back to putting the music on mute and turning on blast LMP on Spotify (Owl House fans you know what I mean). It doesn’t really help that Rockstar is drip feeding radios and music too, since Still Slippin won’t be broadcasted to the entire map until a few more weeks. Maybe when it’s finally released for the entire map then I’ll take a listen. That one Moodymann song they played for the trailer goes hard and I’m sure his other works go hard too; too bad no one goes to the Music Locker, which is literally a stripped down version of our nightclubs under the casino. Come to think of it, music and nightclubs are a major part of this update, making me think Rockstar just wanted to do an After Hours Pt. 2. Overall, the Cayo Perico was had the potential to be one of the best updates the game has ever seen: a map expansion for us to explore, but we were given a heist with ruthless AI and mediocre to subpar content to make up for it. As it stands, it might be one of my least favorite updates, not living up to the community’s expectations whilst being quite content dry.
Spent 80 dollars for my whole family to bowl for 3 hours , arcade and food and that would of been 1 second on a slot machine
So today I took my bf and my son out to bowl . 3 games with shoes was 25 dollars , about 15 dollars for an arcade card that had 200 credits which entertain my toddler for 45 mins . Another 40 dollars on food which included cheese burger and fries combo , a big large pizza , and 12 teriyaki wings . On top of that my toddler played both me and my bf games for 50 bowls ! And out of that 40 dollars I left a tip for 8 dollars for a 32 dollar food bill . So everybody was happy ! 3 hours of family fun to compare it to 1 second of a spin on a slot or 1 hand of blackjack ! Just to show that money can buy you so much when you are not literally wasting it at a casino or any forms of gambling .
First off, I'd like to say thank you to the Fallout Mods community for your help previously in getting my Tale of Two Wastelands to work properly. Been having fun so far. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get my Fallout Who Vegas to run with my TTW; I load a savegame or start a new game, and the TARDIS doesn't show up. There is a crack in Doc Mitchell's house so I know the mod itself is working, it's just when the TARDIS is supposed to show up, it doesn't show. I've tried reordering the mods to no avail. If someone could take a look at this and my load order and give me some help, I would be grateful for any help. I've installed the mod limit fix but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I looked up on the FWV mod site and it says something about the initial loading of DLC interfering with the mod, tried deactivating my DLC delay mod in hopes that it'd fix it but to no avail. I've all but accepted that I won't get FWV to run, but I'm asking for help anyways on the slim hope that I might get it to run after all. I've also posted a similar entry over on the Fallout Who thread, but at the prompting of one of the posters there I've decided to post here to get more people to help. If it can be helped, that would be great as I'd love to add being a Time Lord to my repertoire in the game, if not, then at least I tried asking for help. The only thing I can think to get my mod working is to download a savegame that already has the starting quest completed. Thank you for your time in any case.
Why spend money on draws (not crates as they are absolute trash these days)
Let's say you earn money and wanna do something good with it. If you are a MOBILE GAMER and you LOVE flashy stuff you should spend money on draws and skins cause if you NOT it will anyway end up in one of the following ways : 1) Eaten by you in the form of some junk food or healthy or any type and pooped out 2) Eaten by your GF/BF in any form 3) Eaten by family in the form of any need they have of it. So in above cases it basically gone. You got the temperory stuff of happiness by eating or helping others that's it ! 4) Used in some fees given for healthcare/educational which in long term is no use cause you may get accident or injury or sickness again and educational degree got obsolete as the demand skillset increased . 5) Saving money for old age is waste was what's the point of saved money when you can no longer enjoy it as you just too old hag now. Also you may die early so all that money will be locked forever . Buying skins gives you the feel of superiority and looks cool. They are permanant and also you can take screen shots of them and flex even if the game dies in the future. It's better than wasting money on casinos and stocks also cause it's just not completely based on luck or market stats.
Men still want to get married. Men are now paying for companionship instead of dating. The only thing that changed is women now want a man who has 6 figure salary, 6 foot tall, 6 inch penis, and 6 felonies.
Women are like a casino. They often sell dreams for cash. Hence marriage. Whatever the game or the name. The rules are always the same
Big government solutions? "'Man'ifesto" is the new "Her-story", you heard it here first.
"Men need to step up to the plate and start acting like men." "Men need to stop being so selfish and put someone else first." "Men are stuck in childhood and need to grow-up." "Men can't handle the fact that women are strong and independent nowadays." "Men are being radicalized on the internet to hate women." Did I miss any of the tired and worn-out excuses?
I'm all for marriage when: women, legislators and feminists: Establish a prenuptial agreement, that is worth the paper it's printed on. Pass legislation criminalizing false accusations. Pass legislation for redress, so men can sue women who falsely accuse them. Pass legislation that provides for the rights of fathers in paternity. Require that universal genetic testing be completed upon the birth of a child. Pass legislation for either: A. Enacting universal selective service (both sexes). B. Abolishing selective service entirely. Pass legislation for equal wages, based on work completed for the SAME type of jobs. Dangerous work does NOT equal cushy office jobs. Abolish ALL family courts, in order to establish a more equitable system. A system that will truly be in the best interest of the child. 25% of monies collected will be held in trust for the child, payable at age 18. Abolish ALL quotas. The best candidate gets the job. Establish policy in health and wellness research equitably between specific sex health diseases. Indefinitely, additional funds are to be provided for mens health, until the gap in mortality rates between the sexes is closed. Establish a universal retirement date for Social Security. I could go on. Once all these are met, the barriers to marriage will be eliminated.
Actually I would like it if you went on. Better still do a comprehensive, concise as possible list of fair demands. I would print it off. Thank you.
Maybe a "Man"ifesto is needed.
Some are ready to celebrate, others recommend caution.
All because of feminism -- all because. Women are inherently control freaks, like all people who are insanely neurotic. True men simply cannot abide being in a subordinate position to a control freak. It strips us of our dignity. It's demoralizing. So, increasingly, men will abandon the ranks until the women in charge have nobody left under them. It's a slow bleed because there are so many Millennial soycucks that were raised on a steady diet of women-r-wonderful and some of them have to get burned multiple times before they start to clue in to the fact that it really is all women.
